“Mark Your Calendars”

An extremely important priority presently facing us is the passage of the Employee Free Choice Act which has been introduced into Congress. There is an urgent need here at the Local to step up our activities involving this legislation to further the education of our membership, as well as the general public, of the need to have this legislation made into law.

On Tuesday, April 28, 2009, and make it your plan to attend this meeting which will be held here at our Local hall on 920 11th Street SE, Washington, DC. beginning promptly at 6:30 p.m.

CWA DISTRICT 2 CONFERENCE
“Dedicated to the Memory of Peter G. Catucci”

On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, April 21st thru 23rd, the officers of this local as well as officers from locals throughout Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia were in attendance to the CWA District 2 conference held in Williamsburg, Virginia.

The conference, with a message which called for “UNITY” within the labor movement from everyone, was dedicated to the memory of former District 2 Vice President Pete Catucci who passed away on April 3, 2009.

CWA President Larry Cohen laid out CWA’s plan of action for the future to the District 2 group with his assurance that our persistent unity to be the key to our success.
