"CWA Bargaining Report #1"

Representatives of CWA Districts 1, 2 and 13, along with the IBEW, met on Wednesday, November 7, 2007, in Philadelphia, Pa. with Verizon Representatives to review data regarding Verizon’s Health Care Plans.

CWA bargaining teams met throughout the day on Thursday, November 8th to develop the Union’s bargaining agenda. The first day of formal bargaining will be Monday, November 19, 2007 in Philadelphia, Pa.

AVAYA

"Academic Awards Program"

The Avaya Academic Awards Program provides scholarships for children of Avaya employees. These awards make a significant statement to youth about the importance of intellectual development and community involvement.

In order to be eligible, high school seniors must have a minimum 3.21 GPA on a 4.0 scale and have participated in community or school volunteer activities.

The application period for the year 2008 program is now open. Completed applications must be postmarked no later than December 31, 2007. Only calendar year 2008 applications will be accepted. For any additional information regarding this program, contact the Local office on 202 291-1500.
