Building, Building Maintenance, Community Services, Education,
Entertainment, Equity, Legislative, and Safety.
Building - manages and controls under direction of
Executive Board, any and all real estate, which the Local may
acquire for use as Local Headquarters or for the furtherance of any
legitimate object of the union.
Building Maintenance - has the responsibility for the of
the Local's building and property.
Community Services - is responsible for assisting and
advising members, with on and off the job difficulties, about
sources of help within the community. The committee shall also
assist in developing all Community Services programs.
Education - develops the Local's educational criteria and
working with officers shall be responsible for effectuating the
Union's and Local's educational program.
Entertainment - participates in the organizing and
planning of the social functions of the Local.
Equity - is responsible for implementing the Union's
policy that the Local shall oppose and seek to eliminate
discrimination against any member because of race, sex, religion,
age or national origin. the committee shall also report to the
members of the Local on the ways and means of eliminating all
discrimination.
Legislative - develops and pursues the program of the
Union and the Local in the Legislative arena. It shall also be
responsible for the Local's program to register each qualified
voter.
Safety - promotes a better understanding and acceptance of
the principles of safety on the part of all members, to provide for
their own safety and that of their fellow members.
Members of each committee are designed by the Executive Board or
volunteers are welcome to participate in one or more of the
committees.
